Accessibility

Our website should work for everyone. Here's what we've done, and how to tell us if something isn't working.

What we've done

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we keep checking it. That includes:

  • large, easy-to-read text with strong colour contrast
  • clear headings and landmarks for easy navigation
  • everything works with a keyboard, with a clear outline showing where you are
  • descriptions for meaningful images, and no text inside photos
  • pages that work on phones and when zoomed in
  • no flashing content, and counting animations switch off if your device is set to reduce motion
  • forms with clear labels and helpful error messages

We haven't added an "accessibility toolbar" or overlay. These often clash with the tools people already use, so we've built accessibility into the site itself.
